Its about 150foot hole nearly as wide as a football field and its one of the largest slides caused by the storms earlier this year and its been become a nightmare for the residents who live here. They are assessing the damage and trying to choose a permanent fix. So how long is it going to take for them to repair highway 35 . Reporter he was locked out of the base due to the shutdown. Im praying for my colleagues in their barricaded behind locked doors. Reporter it was soon discovered that there was no gunman. They were preparing for an active Shooter Drill adding to the confusion when the report was made of an active shooter. Joint base andrews released a statement describing what unfolded this way. Joint base andrews was scheduled to conduct a nonotice active shooter exercise. However, reports of a realworld active shooter situation at the medical facility were miscommunicated before the exercise was to begin. There was a misidentification of the Security Forces Emergency Services team who were conducting a routi of the medical facility, which caused the distress call. Could have been far worse if not for the Security Forces. Based on the attacks of the Prime Minister and others, they arrived with back backs and guns. A bomb detonated curbside. Apparently allowing the two remaining terrorists to slip past security and enter the terminal itself. A third attacker made his way to the upper level and detonated a bomb even though he was shot. The drill was planned for the other side of the base. So what actually happened here, youre seeing people who are leaving the hospital and some of them had their hands up, some of them were taken out by guards. This is in reaction to the report of an active shooter there on joint base andrews. This is not the drill but people who were being evacuated and taken out of the medical hospital while they tried to search for floors and make sure there was an allclear here. Someone secured security personnel doing a regular check of that hospital as a possible gunman and called the operations center.
