COVID-19 Rates Leveled Off, Hospitalizations Continue to Fall COVID-19 case rates leveled off slightly last week, with new reported cases averaging 1,820 per day. Hospitalizations continued to fall, and on Thursday, February 25, 2021, the 1,988 hospitalizations fell below 2,000 for the first time since November 29, 2020, when the County reported 2,049 hospitalizations. The County remains in Tier 1 of the State’s Blueprint, along with 47 of the state’s 58 counties. As of Tuesday, February 23, the state’s adjusted case rate for the County was 15.2 cases per 100,000 residents. The number must be below 7 cases per 100,000 in order to move to Tier 2. Vaccinations As of Friday, February 26, 2021, the County reported administering “nearly 1,960,000 doses” of vaccine, including 600,497 second doses.
