Thank you very much. Next speaker, please. We know that the China Town Community center is here today speaking in support for imperi imperial. It represents everything we need on the Planning Commission. Her background, intelligence, thoughtfulness. You know, her fight for a long history of fighting for communities. Im very excited to see the conversation today centered around Racial Equity and how we make that real. As you can see were very excited. Today i wanted to strongly encourage you to support the appointment to the Planning Commission. Thank you, very much. Can we have the next speaker, please. Supervisors, let me bring to your attention that thisthe questions you ask should be very permanent and relevant. Now i hope you know the difference between a resolution and ordinance. Anyone can write a resolution. It cannot be enforced, its useful at three candidates. It cannot be enforced. Having said that, if you walk over San Francisco you see too many camps and homelessness. The recommendations written in 2009 about how they are thinking about that. Obviously, we need to reconsider that. I totally understand the board of supervisors position. This is the wrong time for fare increases. We should be using every other tool before we get there. I get why s. F. M. T. A. Was between a rock and hard place. Lets remove that and make that not a problem any more. Lets revise how we think about fare increases. I get where that rationale may have been attractive 10 years ago. It doesnt make sense now. Lets move forward to figure out how to stabilize m. T. A. Without doing that on the backs of our most vulnerable riders. A couple months ago you werent clear. Now you will not increase fares during the recovery or pandemic . I would like to look at weighs to avoid doing that in the future. I dont want to increase them now or going forward. I dont think there are better ways to support muni. I have heard that loud and clear. That is what we need to do. This is so importan
Hot teams are frustrated because they dont have the rooms to offer. I think its something in closed session we can probe more, but i think its something thats important that we make sure that the boards perspective is being reflected in some of these in this Settlement Agreement and these Settlement Agreements. And, you know, obviously, we have the ability to vote something up or down, but its also to the extent that i think this is going to reoccur. This is the elephant in the room. Theres other problems that i have with the settlement, but the elephant in the room is theres several elements, and its my view as a lawyer that these lawsuits are elements to get the units because the mayor wont follow what the board of supervisors have passed, and so folks are desperate and filing lawsuits, and maybe theyll get and in the tenderloin, we got action, but we didnt get a net increase in the rooms. And i would love to see any of these resolutions in these kinds of cases have that; actually co
Commander ford showed in the powerpoint. Its not as much increases in the applicant pool. We only hire about 5 or 7 percent of the applicants. We have lot of applicants to get at the end. Very small number of candidates actually get through the whole process. I think its important to say, i hope this isnt taken the wrong way. Background process is strenuous and its strenuous on purpose. We ultimately from the entire pool, it is a small percentage that ultimately gets in the door and we armed with our equipment and guns. I guess i was in background for many years. I remember early on, this was years ago, the underlying theme was that the background process, it is exclusive to a degree. Were looking for a certain type of individual who has certain mindset and heart to come in this organization and do this kind of work. This is a unique profession and it requires a very unique personality. Were very all organizations are very particular about who we ultimately hire. Obviously, the implica
