Perform include theater cooperation exercises with partner nations, forces and contingency operations. Require our forces to maintain a high level of readiness and training the availability such as would you just noted the big island and others are critical to the marine corps ability to conduct operations in the pacific. Could you share your thoughts on the importance of training ranges, specially as we continue the rebalance in the asiapacific region . Senator, if were going to be what we need to do to be ready we have to have ranges that support our ability to use our weapons and to maneuver the force. One of the great advantages of a Training Area is ever able to go up there and drop bombs and shoot artillery and a lot of the things we need to do. That is him whenever space up there plus we have actually deployed there. We need to go up there, its like whether even though its only a matter of miles it doesnt matter to the pickup and you move. Where ever we go we have to be concerne
Goods or Something Like that. It is effective but just a different level of intensity. All right well, we have a lot of green cards here to which we were not able to get for which i apologize. But i think that also reflects the level of engagement of our consumers of Health Policy information here. Thank you for spending your beautiful friday afternoon inside a very cool hearing room helping us grapple with one of the most multifacetted set of problems in Health Policy these days. Thanks to anthem and the National Consumer league for helping us think through this topic and assemble a great panel. Speaking of said panel help me thank this panel for some wonderful discussion. So theres were trying to have more preexisting arrangements like that, and that goes to your question. If there are assets in the region, how do we plan for contingencies so that they can be immediately triggered and try to respond. I obviously spoke to the white house, i spoke to general petraeus, i spoke to lots of other people that evening trying to get whatever help we could get. We did get a surveillance plane above the location, but it took some time to get there. It had to be diverted it was an unarmed drone. Correct . Yes. It was unarmed uav. So we asked for everything we could get and everybody immediately tried to provide it but i think now theres more awareness that maybe we should be doing these scenarios ahead of time to try to figure out what could be done without having to reinvent it every time. Thank you. Im out of time, mr. Chairman. Thank the gentle lady from illinois. Chair would now recognize the gentle woman from indiana. Thank you, madam secretary. Im going to fo

And i want to clarify for the record that this document is about all of libya, not just benghazi. I dont want anybody 77 are about benghazi. Congresswoman, look. I appreciate it and i really do the passion and the intense interof your feelings about this. We have diplomatic facilities in war zones. We have ambassadors that we send to places that have been bombed and attacked all the time. And youre their boss. Youre right, i am. Youre their leader. Is that correct . Are there ever situations where you call them, where you bring them in, where you are personally caring and concerned and are letting them know that . Are there situations where you recall id like to know what the conversation was with ambassador stevens and what month it was with ambassador steve stevens. Because there are no cal
And yes, the Intelligence Community assessment served as the basis for what ambassador rice said when she appeared on the sunday show. And on september 18th, when the video footage arrived from the security cameras the deputy cia director has testified it was not until september 18th, when the cia received the libyan governments assessment of video footage that showed the front of the facility with no sign of protesters that it became clear we needed to revisit our analysis. And then, after they looked at the video footage and fbi reporting from interviews of personnel on the ground in benghazi during the attacks the cia changed its assessment. And that was explained thoroughly in the bipartisan report issued by the House Permanent Select Committee on intelligence which did a very thorough job, congressman. Gentleman yields back, well take a quick break for ten minutes, ten seconds i just wanted to point out that the Ranking Member is actually incorrect. The august 17th memo that i ref
