Man charged with attempted murder over Upper Street stabbing

Charlie O’Bryan, of Upper Street, was arrested on Monday (February 8) on suspicion of attempted murder. He was charged later that day with attempted murder and carrying an offensive weapon. London Ambulance Service, London’s Air Ambulance, and Met Police officers were called to reports of a stabbing at 3.30pm on Thursday (February 4). The 16-year-old remains in police custody after being arrested last night.  Romario was stabbed in Holland Walk, on the Elthorne Estate in Archway, at about 5.30pm on Monday night. Despite efforts to save him by emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene a short while later. His next-of-kin are being supported by specialist officers. Another boy aged 16, who was arrested on suspicion of affray, has been released with no further action.

Ch Supt Raj Kohli, commander of the central north unit, said: “A young person’s life has been taken and our thoughts are with his family and friends who have lost someone very special to them. A teenager died after a stabbing in the Elthorne Estate - Credit: Archant A teenager has died following a stabbing in the Elthorne Estate, Archway. Police were called to Holland Walk, Islington, on Monday, January 25, at around 5.30pm to a report of a stabbing. Officers attended with London Ambulance Service and the air ambulance, and found a teenage boy suffering from a stab injury. Despite efforts to save him by emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene a short while later. His next of kin has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers. One male has been arrested on suspicion of affray.
