NEW YORK STATE POLICE ¯ BEMUS POINT Donald Smith, 59, of Bemus Point, was charged with driving while intoxicated. Smith was stopped March 31 on Pancake Hill Road in Bemus Point for a traffic violation and was taken into custody after allegedly failing several field sobriety tests. Smith was transported to police barracks where he provided a breath sample of 0.12%. He was processed and released with tickets to appear in Ellery Town Court later. ¯ Geoffrey Ghiandoni, 32, of Jamestown, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs. Troopers were flagged downed by pedestrians Thursday for a running vehicle in the parking lot of a Jamestown business during hours of operation with an individual passed out in the driver seat. The troopers were able to get the individual, later identified as Ghiandoni, to regain consciousness and placed him under arrest after he failed several field sobriety tests. Ghiandoni is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court later.

Jamestown woman facing Leandra s Law charge following traffic stop | News, Sports, Jobs

OBSERVER Staff report A Jamestown woman is facing a Leandra’s Law charge following a traffic stop earlier this week. Paulamari Cruz Rivera, 20, was stopped by New York state troopers Tuesday on Route 60 in the town of Ellicott for a reported traffic violation. She was taken into custody after allegedly failing several field sobriety tests. A child that was in the vehicle was turned over to another person, the state police said in a news release. Cruz Rivera was transported to UPMC Chautauqua for a blood draw, and was processed at police barracks where she was evaluated by a drug recognition expert and determined to be “under the influence of cannabis.”
