This site is located in unincorporated Sacramento County, which subjects it to land-use approvals by county officials.
During their meeting, the commission will decide whether to recommend that the Elk Grove City Council file that application with the Sacramento Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo).
The 390-acre proposed annexation site represents Phase 1 of a proposed 571-acre annexation area, which would help alleviate the cityâs decline in available industrial-use property. Proposed land uses for this area also include commercial and recreational uses.
As a whole, the proposed annexation area is referred to by the city as the Elk Grove Multi-Sports Complex and Southeast Industrial Annexation Area.
In-N-Out Burger is in the process of trying to build another restaurant in Elk Grove.
The fast-food chain hopes to serve customers as a tenant of The Ridge Shopping Center at the southeast corner of Elk Grove Boulevard and Bruceville Road. Their current Elk Grove spot is near the corner of Bond Road and East Stockton Boulevard.
Carl Arena, vice president of real estate and development for In-N-Out, told the Citizen on Dec. 21 that the company is excited about the possibility of operating at The Ridge.
âWe are very enthusiastic about the opportunity there,â he said. âThat said, itâs still very early in the development process and our plans are still going through the city of Elk Groveâs review process.â
