As the third phase of voting began for the 18th Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi casted his vote at Nishan Higher Secondary School in Ahmedabad. Sporting a white kurta-pyjama paired with a saffron-colored half jacket, PM Modi accompanied Amit Shah to the voting booth. Along the way, he paused to greet onlookers, even signing a sketch of himself. Additionally, PM Modi took a photograph with a young girl outside the polling booth located at Nishan Higher Secondary School in Ahmedabad.
Gautam Adani exercised his voting right in Ahmedabad during the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, urging citizens to participate in the democratic process. Meanwhile, polling is underway for 93 seats across 12 states and union territories, with voter turnout varying from state to state. The election, involving over 1300 candidates, is being closely monitored by 75 international delegates. Voting for Jammu and Kashmir s Anantnag-Rajouri seat has been postponed to the sixth phase. The BJP won 72 out of the 93 seats contested in this phase during the 2019 general election.
Asking all political parties to stop enrolling voters for post-election schemes under the guise of surveys, the Election Commission of India (EC) today said such activities have a potential of quid pro quo and amount to corruption.
