Call My Agent s UK cast revealed : News 2021 : Chortle : The UK Comedy Guide

Including Lydia Leonard, Jim Broadbent and Rebecca Humphries The core cast has been revealed for the UK remake of Call My Agent. Lydia Leonard, whose credits include Gentleman Jack and the historical medical comedy Quacks, will play the lead character of Alexa, based on Camille Cottin’s stylish theatrical agent Andréa Martel. The cast will also include Jack Davenport, from This Life and Coupling; Maggie Steed, who was Esther in Michaela Coel’s Chewing Gum; Blackadder s Tim McInnerny; Jim Broadbent and Rebecca Humphries, known for her live work as well as TV roles such as Lucy Two in Friday Night Dinner.

The original version of the series, which has run for four seasons, revolves around a Parisian talent agency where the staff struggles to keep their business booming and their clients happy following the sudden death of the companyâs founder. Guest stars have included Sigourney Weaver, Juliet Binoche, Monica Bellucci, Isabelle Huppert and Isabel Adjani, all appearing as themselves. BAFTA-winning comedy writer John Morton ( People Like Us) is attached to the remake, which will be produced by Bron Studios and Headline Pictures. The series will include eight one-hour episodes and is scheduled to begin filming in London next week.

Advertisement Tony Award-nominated actor Lydia Leonard leads the cast as Alexa, a version of Andréa Martel from the original series, while Pirates of the Caribbean star Jack Davenport takes on the role of Jonathan – who is based on Mathias Barneville. Other actors set to appear in leading roles in the series include Maggie Steed (EastEnders), Prasanna Puwanarajah (Doctor Foster), Harry Trevaldwyn (The King) and Hiftu Quasem (The Nest).
