The peace negotiations in Juba between the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement North (SPLM-N) under the leadership of Abdelaziz El Hilu and the Sudanese government continued yesterday in 'positive spirit' after a brief adjournment.
April 30 - 2021 JUBA / KHARTOUM The mainstream Sudan Liberation Movement under the leadership of Abdelwahid El Nur (SLM-AW) reaffirmed in a statement yesterday that it is not interested in negotiating peace with the current government.
The official spokesman for the movement, Abdelrahman El Nayer, stated that the movement is preparing arrangements for an ‘internal dialogue’ that is to be held between all Sudanese within Sudan.
He clarified that this initiative has nothing to do with the peace talks signed by the government and other rebel groups in Juba. The SLM-AW will not negotiate with the government using the old methodology “that has proven its failure to solve the national crisis”.

The mainstream Sudan Liberation Movement under the leadership of Abdelwahid El Nur (SLM-AW) reaffirmed in a statement issued yesterday that it is not interested in negotiating with the current government and has never met with the South Sudanese mediation team . Instead, it is preparing arrangements for an internal Sudanese dialogue.
The official spokesman for the movement, Abdelrahman El Nayer, reported that the SLM-AW is now working to complete its internal arrangements and consultations with its allies in order to form the initiative promised to the Sudanese people.

Official negotiations between the transitional government and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), under the leadership of Abdelaziz El Hilu, are scheduled to start on April 25 in Juba, the capital of the Republic of South Sudan.
The negotiations were made possible after the two parties signed a Declaration of Principles (DOP) in which they agree “to work together to achieve and consolidate the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity in Sudan”.
