All verdicts in Bangla soon: CJ

Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain said on Sunday that all orders and verdicts by the Supreme Court will be issued in Bangla soon.
“We’ve started using software from December. It automatically translates verdicts from English into Bangla. Further steps will be taken once the translations are done,” he said.
The chief justice came up with the remarks while speaking to journalists after paying homage to the 1952 Language Martyrs at the Central Shaheed Minar in the capital.
“On the instruction of the prime minister, a translation cell has been formed, which has already started work in this regard,” he said.

DHAKA, Feb 18, 2021 (BSS) – Bangladesh Supreme Courte today unveiled ‘Amar Vasha’ software to translate court orders and judgments from English into Bangla language.
The software with artificial intelligence was developed with ‘EkStep’ Foundation of India, on their original ‘Anuvaad’ software used in India similarly to translate from English to Indian languages including Bangla, an Indian High Commission press release said here.
The software was unveiled at a virtual event attended by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq, Law and Justice Division Secretary Md. Golam Sarwar and Indian High Commissioner Vikram K. Doraiswami.
