More than two months after 15 people were trapped inside a 370-foot-deep rat-hole coal mine in Meghalaya s East Jaintia Hills district, the Indian Navy on Wednesday recovered one more highly decomposed body of a miner, according to reports.

An illegal coal mine in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills (EJH) district got flooded after a dynamite explosion on Sunday evening leaving five miners missing.
The rescue operation has been going on for more than three days to save the five miners trapped inside somewhere in a rat-hole mine. The five miners have been identified by the district administration – four from Assam and one from Tripura.
At least five people are trapped inside an illegal coal mine in Meghalaya since Monday. Rescuers on Wednesday used ropes, crane and hooks to trace them.
