how the tea party movement turned into the tea party caucus, that then has affected everything from budget negotiations to who is actually in senate leadership, senate and house leadership. i think that is what you are seeing from progressives all over who were saying, we want to make sure that this government represents all of us. not just some of us, not just the 1%, not the wealthy billionaires and millionaires. that speak to everyone. martha: democrats are saying republicans talk over the last eight years and they learn them well. that is frankly not read any of this is about. this is about the democrats refusing to accept the donald trump won. it s why they want to confirm his picks. why they wouldn t meet with the nominee, or such, for his supreme court nomination. any chance they get, they wish it could be november 7th again that they could redo this election. the american people voted and they voted donald trump into the white house. all of this effort isn t going to work.
democrats have used the shooting as another example to push for gun control. gardner s husband doesn t blame the gun. here s what he told fox news. if he hadn t had a gun he d have had a knife or machete. he was bound and determined to try to make a name for himself on live tv because he failed at it so many times. so no, i don t blame the gun. i blame the guy that was holding the gun. and the father of alison parker addressed reporters today. he says he s going to fight to tighten gun laws but insists the effort isn t going to take away the second amendment rights. we re not trying to take people s guns away. all we want to do is keep crazy people from getting guns. and there s got to be a way to do it. we go to you, katy, first. you wrote books on guns. your thoughts on both these gentlemen. the good news is that there are ways to prevent mentally ill people from getting guns. virginia is one of those places
that susan rice will be an excellent national security adviser to the president? well, wolf, i think it s certainly a curious choice. she s a very political lightning rod right now, and that s an odd choice for the one position that is supposed to be as nonpolitical as you can get. so i hope all of that attention and all that effort isn t distracting to her mission. because it s a critically important one. it works with congress, the national security committees, to try to solvebug problems. syria, north korea, iran. i mean, the list is pretty extentance. sooiber. all of that has to happen, and that s the one job you just don t want politics to creep into. i hope that doesn t happen. i look forward to working with her in that role. the president has the right to appoint somebody he wants to be his adviser on national security issues, and i ll work with her in that capacity. but again, i think it s curious given all of the other distractions for the administration to pick such a
