Two state troopers and a feferal marshall found himovernight. He had a gun. There was a shootout no officers were hurt, and now a community is breathing a sigh of relief. This morni the man month for 62yearold floyd cook is over. At about the 12 21 a. M. This morning officers called in to st dispatch 15 in columbia saying shots had been fired. Reportete Police Shooting and killing the convicted rapist and robber overnight. He brandished a gun. He did have one, and shots were exchanged, and cook sustained wounds which ultimately led to hissdeath. The county coroner pronounced him dead at the scene. Reporter the search began last weekend after police say cook, who was wanted on drug warrants, opeved fire on an officer during a traffic stop neither tennnnseekentucky border. On thursday Authorities Say cook approached a home in the berksville area and asked for a ride and resence called police and coooo ran into thee woodod authorities shut down part of highway 61 and set up a perimeter tracking cook with canine units, night vision and heatsensing equipmt. Earlier this week two of cooks known associates were arrested following a foot chase in whitehouse, tennessee and now after nearly a week on the run, police say the threat over. The School District says a coach can not lead players in prayer calling that an overt religious public display so the coach was placed on paid administrative lead, but he wasas allowed to attend last nights game. When the Bremerton Knights took the field their assistant coach was benched. Joe kennedy watched fm the stands like any other fan, but in a a way he was the one with fans. Im just a guy standing up for the constitution who happens to believe in god and praise. Reporter kennedy was put on administrative leave for praying on the 50 yard linee after games, something hes done for years, often joined by players. He says if you want to be in here, join me. If you think about how many people over the age of 65 or take statins, its same vulnerableleroup who get the flu shotot why am i saying vulnerable . Number one, we see a rise in flu in elderly patients, number one, and number two theres an agerelated decline in your immunity as you get older so now weweave two studies that are hypothesisgenerating. Not definitively saying they do reduce the effect i wasness but its raised the possibility that it can reduce theesponse t t the vaccine which c cld translate into more respiratory illness. This puts people in a pickle. You mentioned if youre older youre more susceptible to flu, more likely to die of the flu and if youre on statins the flu hoho is not effective, what am i supposed to do . A really important bottom line. Given the fact this is the first study that has even looked at this the theres absolutely no formal recommendation that if you are take aggrastatin you should forgo the flu ot, and if you are planning on getting the flu shot that you should stop the statin, nobody is saying that. Theres a highdose flu shot. And this is incredibly importanan approved last year theres a highdoselu vaccine which is roughly four times as strong as standard dose. It is recommended for all people over the age of 65. It does boost the response to the vaccine and also has a modest effect on efficacy. Next topic. Yes. There was a study that read essentially as i read it lowfat diets dont reaeay work. Not the headline, not a good headline. What are we supposed to take from this. This was interesting, actually what we call a meta analysis over 63 randomized controlled trials on all these different dietary interventions. Headline red lowfat diets dont work to lose weight. Thats not exactly true. The real find some things that low carb diets edged out lowfat diets in terms of weight loss, but real thing was lowfat diets actually do result in weight loss. Its just if you compare them to pele who dont make any dietary intervention, thats where thehe really come out onn top. Its kind of like if you think about a high put it this way. Weight is going to workv it really depends on the individual. If you want to do a lowfat didi, great, thats going to work for you. If you want to do a highfat low carb diet thats probably going to work for you also as long as youre including exercise, physical activity and all those other things and you stick with it.
