Seventy percent of the 16,500 students in Stamford Public Schools identify as people of color, while 17% of the staff do. For the 2020-21 school year, Connecticut’s teacher workforce was made of 9.7% of educators of color while more than 47% of the state’s students identify as people of color, according to the state Department of Education.

Today s ceremony kicked off a series of several in-person commencement ceremonies that will take place over the course of the next five days. The school is doing it with safety in mind.
