Permanent Secretary for Education Anjeela Jokhan said students should organise their e-transport cards before school starts on Tuesday next week. Jokhan in a statement said replacement cards can be purchased from any Vodafone Fiji outlet at a value of $5.00.  “If you have lost or damaged your e-transport cards, you should make all necessary arrangements to replace your e-transport cards before school starts on Tuesday next week”. “Parents are to assist their children in obtaining replacement cards to avoid any disappointment when school starts.”

Dec 19, 2020 11:27:01 AM Initial assessment by the government reveals that 17 schools in Vanua Levu and Yasawa have suffered damages due to Tropical Cyclone Yasa. Minister for Education Rosy Akbar arrived in Labasa on Friday to see firsthand the damages done by the category five cyclone. There are videos circulating on social media showing some of the schools in Yasawa and Vanua Levu roof being blown away. In Bua, there were more than 60 people were taking shelter at Coboi Primary School including a two week old and an eight-month-old baby when the roof was blown away. Teachers of Dreketi Primary School in Macuata witnessed the roof being blown away by the category five cyclone on Thursday.
