Opportunities are flourishing here. It's now possible for students to remain here after school and enter a job market that will provide pathways to good-paying, fulfilling livelihoods. But we must be diligent in our path forward.
Apprentices accepted into the program beginning will complete 2,000 hours of on-the-job training and 144 hours of classroom time at Southern Maine Community College. Skills students will learn include shellfish and seaweed production and management, operating a vessel and crop and animal husbandry.
BluShift Aerospace and the Maine Space Grant Consortium is collaborating with Educate Maine and MaxIQ Space to deliver programs to 15 schools selected for the NASA-funded programming in 2023.
