Swimming upstream: First aquaculture apprenticeship program in U.S. launches in Maine

Apprentices accepted into the program beginning will complete 2,000 hours of on-the-job training and 144 hours of classroom time at Southern Maine Community College. Skills students will learn include shellfish and seaweed production and management, operating a vessel and crop and animal husbandry.
