2 more MVC agencies closed by COVID, for a total of 7 statewide

New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission officials closed two agencies on Saturday after employees at each tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Camden Licensing Center and the Trenton Licensing and Regional Service Center are closed and scheduled to reopen on Friday Feb. 5, after the agencies are sanitized, contract tracing and any quarantining is complete.
These agencies are scheduled to reopen on the following dates:
North Bergen Licensing Center - Monday, Jan 25.
Lodi Licensing Center - Monday, Jan 25.
Edison Licensing Center - Friday, Jan 29.
Randolph Licensing Center - Monday, Feb 1.
As another MVC agency shuts down, legislators try to bring relief to drivers facing deadlines

As state Motor Vehicle Commission officials shut down the Paterson agency late Sunday night due to an employee testing positive for the coronavirus, legislators are moving a bill to extend some dates that driver and vehicle documents expire.
The Paterson Licensing and Regional Service Center will remain closed for sanitizing, contact tracing and quarantining until Feb. 5.
This closure blunts the impact of reopening two agencies Monday in North Bergen and Lodi. Drivers who lost appointments due to agency shutdowns complained they are running up against dates their documents expire for in-person transactions.
Wayne MVC agency closed until next month

After a week with few agency closures, the state Motor Vehicle Commission’s Wayne licensing center closed until next month due to an employee testing positive for the coronavirus.
The employee who tested positive was last in the Wayne Center on Thursday, and it is scheduled to reopen Friday, Feb. 5, MVC officials said.
Vehicle inspections and Road Test Operations at Wayne remain open, because they are in separate buildings from the Licensing Center.
The number of agencies open will improve slightly as the Medford Vehicle Center and Salem Licensing Center will reopen, Saturday. Both were closed for quarantine and full COVID-19 cleaning, officials said.

The closures affect the vehicle centers in Newton and Medford and the Salem Licensing Center.
There is some good news: MVC officials expect the Manahawkin Vehicle Center, Toms River Licensing Center, and Edison Licensing Center to reopen Tuesday after being closed for sanitizing, quarantining and contact tracing.
The Newton Vehicle Center will be closed until Jan. 20 after an employee who tested positive was last there on Jan. 5.
Both Medford Vehicle Center and Salem Licensing Center will be closed until Saturday, Jan. 23. Individual employees who tested positive at each of these locations were in the buildings last on Jan. 8, officials said.
