Taco Bell uses moon as influencer for upcoming global campaign Details 03 May 2021 Taco Bell is enlisting the help of the night sky and the waning crescent moon as the billboard for its first global campaign. On 4 May, the moon will resemble a taco when it is in the waning crescent phase, a shape which Taco Bell affectionally calls the Taco Moon . When that happens, consumers in the US can snag a free crunchy taco in-store, via the app or online. Southeast Asia is also joining the global campaign, with the Philippines and Thailand kicking it off in the region. In total, more than 20 markets will celebrate the Taco Moon including Australia, the UK, India, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Puerto Rico. Taco Bell names head of marcomms and agency partners as it enters Malaysia Details 12 April 2021 Taco Bell recently opened its doors in Malaysia and brought on board Gitanjali Sriram as head of marketing and communications. She will oversee all advertising and communications with the collaboration of the Taco Bell International ASPAC marketing team. Sriram was previously with Publicis Groupe, last working as chief operating officer for Malaysia in 2020. She also worked at the Groupe s Manila and Dubai offices. At the same time, it also appointed Lion & Lion and Edelman Malaysia to support the launch of its first outlet, as well as manage digital and social media and PR duties respectively for the brand.
