Abc news is showing republicans hanging onto a threeseat advantage with a number of contests still up for grabs as democrats look to take control of the chamber. One seat not changing hands is maine republican susan collins, who survived a major challenge from democrat sara gideon. Collins holds on for a fifth term, winning by seven percentage points. In the house, republicans have a net gain of five seats so far. Democrats are trying to maintain their advantage in that chamber. More than a dozen races are considered tossups.
