Feedback from him. And, you know, at first i even made a mistake. We were so used to in high school to learning that these young people are called special education, and derek, you know, corrected me. I was so happy he did because we want to make sure were making everything correct in our draft once we present it to the board of supervisors that we have everything correct. And i have some copies. I dont know if i handed to you guys yet. So, it really is just a draft and its just talking about how we want this to be implemented. We do have some student advisory councilmembers in our committee. So, they get to theyre going to be able to present this to the board of education while we present it to the board of supervisors, urging them to, you know, pass this. We just think that this, even though its a really small step into special in disability awareness, its still going to be really helpful in the future if we want to get better inclusion programs for young people. My little sister has

Or if they didnt care, they learned to care. And this was partly because of activism of the disability rights, the organizers at the protest. They had sewn seed all over the community and the bay area. So, you had this amazing phenomena where youd have like the black panthers, ~ safeway, mcdonalds, glide memorial church. All these amazing bay area institutions contributing to the protest in some way, bringing in, in the case of the black panthers, they brought in hot food. They brought in politicians had showers brought in. So, it was possible for it to happen because the local political people really cared and really started to get it about disability. And because the disability activists themselves were incredibly articulate about what they wanted, what their goals were, what needed to happe

Hi donna. Good afternoon Council Members. My name is donna willmet and im from senior and disability action, where i am a staff member, who works as a consumer advocate. And i just want to begin my remarks with the acknowledgment that San Francisco largely because of the leadership of the department of aging and Adult Services provides. We are a resourcerich city in many ways. So im not going to take up all my time talking about the things that are working, but i will try to address a couple of things that i think we could turn our attention to. The first is medical share of cost; which i think is a huge issue for many people, people who are not eligible for medicare, but are trying to Access Medical to help pay for things like ihss and other medical needs. And if you are caught in the upper poor strata, for instance, the way the shared cost works and probably many of you know this already. Say you make 11 only 1100 a month, which is not very much in the cost. The medical whatever your
