Fitness Zone cruised to an emphatic 115-71 victory over Klimzon Engineering in the You-C1000 Basketball Cup at the Brunei Basketball Association Court in Batu Bersurat last night.
The Group ‘B’ candidate enhanced their chances of getting out of a tough group and have made a winning start as they bid to go far in the tournament.
Fitness Zone team captain Alvin Goh enjoyed a scoring spree in the opening periods of the game having contributed 10 out of his team’s first 14 points of the match.
Lim Liang Wei inspired the team’s victory with a 26-point performance with teammate Lim Jin Yuan equally instrumental with 22 points under his belt.

Yiâs Nation V2 preserved their unbeaten record in the 5.11 National Basketball League after a 86-69 victory over Team 409 at the Brunei Basketball Association Court in Batu Bersurat last night.
The title-chasing Yiâs Nation V2 registered a sixth consecutive victory in the tournament with two remaining matches to play. They will be fighting against Easyway Basketball, who are also undefeated on May 2 and their sister team Yiâs Nation on May 7.
Despite the difference in league positions, it was the underdogs Team 409 who brought the game to the favourites, using a sequence of passes to take the early lead.

Ong Sum Ping recorded their fourth win in the 5.11 National Basketball League after they romped to a 102-70 victory over Team 409 at the Brunei Basketball Association Court in Batu Bersurat last night.
Ong Sum Ping team captain Kevin Tay managed 24 points while Kenny Lim had 20 points.
Team 409 enjoyed a positive start during the early stages of the first quarter but their influence and high energy slowly waned as Ong Sum Ping settled into the game.
The under-23 duo of Chan Yung Ken and Matthew Fong traded a pair of three-pointer to put Team 409 ahead while Kenny Lim of Ong Sum Ping ensured his side kept pace with a couple of free throws and a two-point shot.
