NASSAU, BAHAMAS There are over 200 electric vehicles (EV) being driven locally, a well-known EV dealer has estimated, predicting that that number will likely double this year and grow exponentially thereafter.
Pia Farmer, owner of Easy Car Sales, who addressed the recent Bahamas Business Outlook, said: “We are witnessing one of the greatest technological revolutions in transportation since the invention of the combustion engine 140 years ago”.
She added: “Over 10 million plug-in cars are expected on the global roads in 2020, and analysts predict that by 2040, more than half of all the vehicles on the road will be electric.”

NASSAU, BAHAMAS Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Bahamas Business Outlook (BBO) is scheduled to be held January 14 to 15, 2021 as a virtual forum under the theme “Facing Unprecedented Times: Recover, Adjust. Advance”.
Since 1992, BBO has been assembling experts representing key economic sectors, who present their forecasts on the economic challenges and business opportunities of the new year, along with recommendations for action.
Joan Albury, president of TCL Group, founder and chief organizer of the forum, commented on the upcoming new year’s event.
“Seldom before in the life of our country has it been more urgent to discuss the way forward, holistically and unclouded by heavy partisan overtones,” she said.
