TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - An East Texas state representative has filed a bill in hopes of limiting governor powers during a disaster declaration.
State Rep. Matt Schaefer (R-Tyler) filed HB 1406 on Wednesday. It states, âA person has standing to file suit in a court of this state to challenge a provision of an order issued by the governor or the presiding officer of the governing body of a political subdivision that relates to a declared state of disaster if the provision in the order is alleged to cause injury to the person or burden a right of the person that is protected by the state or federal constitution or by a state or federal law.â

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Lana Peacock, the executive director of the East Texas Crisis Center joined East Texas Nowâs Kayla Lyons to discuss their upcoming raffle and explain how the center helps women in crisis.
The annual East Texas Auto & Cycle Show normally raises around $200,000 for services like their emergency shelter, risk assessment, and safety planning, but this year which would have been the 31st show has been canceled for the safety of the community.

EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - Loretta Williams Gurnell, the founder of the G.A.P. Management Group, spoke to East Texas Now host Kayla Lyons about ways students can attend college debt-free Tuesday night.
The organization’s goal is to bridge gaps in personal and business operations. Among other services, she provides education consulting, and on Dec. 28, her organization will work to bridge the education gap by providing a seminar designed to help parents and students learn how to attend college debt-free.
The seminar is open to parents of students in the classes of 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A new plant-based cinnamon roll bakery held its grand opening today in Tyler.
Cinnaholics, is located in the Cumberland shopping center at 8934 S. Broadway Ave, Suite 420.
Everything at Cinnaholics is made in-house. Unique to Tyler is the “Rose City Roll” strawberries, strawberry jam, and an in-house pie crust.
