RITTMAN A man who police say had been involved in a domestic incident before driving away later killed himself as investigators were trying to convince him to give up his gun.
According to a news release from Rittman police, Matthew I. Morgan, 34, died in the parking lot of an apartment complex off East Sunset Drive around 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Rittman police said they had spotted Morgan as he drove into the lot in a silver Jeep.
The Wayne County Sheriff s Department had put out an alert to locate the driver and vehicle following a domestic incident outside of the city in Wayne County.

Jan. 19 A Bellingham man reportedly led state troopers on a short chase early Saturday in northeast Bellingham, barricaded himself in his home for a nearly four-hour standoff and pointed a gun at Whatcom County Sheriff s deputies before ultimately surrendering.
The Washington State Patrol booked Brett Evan Frost, 51, into Whatcom County Jail Jan. 16 on suspicion of first-degree assault, attempting to elude police, DUI, possession of a controlled substance, obstructing officers and resisting arrest. Jail records show he is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
