My name is Tom Birmingham, and im the director for the Wastewater Treatment plant for the San Francisco Public Utilities commission. Today, im going to give you a quick overview of the location and objectives. Ill talk about some of the Technology Decisions that have been made and some of the other things that were going through right now. This is a situation thats gone on far too long and we have to be mindful not just that this puts a financial pressure on the city, but it also has a Human Element which is you dont want to put people in harms way. Reporter late today a department of correction spokesman said the agency, quote, has robust Fire Evacuation procedures in place and commissioner ponte is committed to ensuring that staff and inmates alike are not a risk. The department has taken significant steps with fdny to address the concerns. It can take 11 years until 2026 to fix everything.
