Good morning. It has been exceptionally humid for the middle of september. Feeling a little more like late august. You can look at the downtown tampa camera around the studios here. You can see the clouds letting us know there is a lot of moisture in the air. You look at the temperature, 85. It is warming up. When you add a dew point of 76 the higher the dew point, the more humid it is. It starts to feel quite summerlike and almost oppressive. Getting this this onshore wind ow onto the shore and pushing in a couple of stray showers in citrus and Hernando County at this point. More showers in the gulf. All wrapping around what is now a tropical depression julia. It will set off the South Carolina coastline and continued to draw in moisture off of the gulf of mexico. There is julia. This is the 5day forecast. Does not move very much. Unfortunately, it will sit here off the coast. It stalls there. Continues. Rain starts along the coast. Pushes inland during the day. Highs in the upper 80s
We started to the north, now its been extended farther south. As we look at the radar shay, a lot of heavy rain. Right. When i first came in this morning we were talking about how Citrus County was really under the gun earlier this morning. They are starting to clear out. What you were saying, it weakened as it moved onshore. That is similar to what were seeing to the south. Hopefully that continues. Its this cell were watching to the south. I think the water temperature is still very cold now this mid60s. That could be weakening the storms as they move in. But boy, look at this, torrential downpours, frequent lightning crews most of the area. A little further south and west were watching this area, with a little spin but i must say its been weakening as well. Hopefully that will follow the trend we had out there early this morning. Tour. Good morning and welcome to 10 news this morning. I am Allison Kropff. I am ian reitz. A man shot and killed on Cherokee Park which is near hind and gandy. A man shot at officers missing one only by an inch. Reporter allison, you can imagine how dangerous the situation was, especially when you consider the officers were only a couple of feet away from the man when he shot a gun and hit one of their protective shields. We need to zoom in because they still have a couple of blocks closed. This happened just after 1 00 this morning when the officers domestic dispute. They talked with the man about 45 minutes before he grabbed a gun that was tucked into a towel that was around his waist. It at officers. Go off. The second time it hit an officers shield. The officer shot back, killing him. A woman in the home was not injured and is expected to be okay. Right now we are working to find out how many officers will be on paid administrative leave and also the identity of the man that was
