Accrington-born Christine McEwan (née Hindle) died on Monday, January 4 2021, aged 71, from Covid-19. Daughter Nicola McCumskay said: I m so proud of her. She has been such a fantastic role model for me and my two children. She was very family orientated, she was always there. She was so caring and always wanted to help others and was always the first one to help. She was a wife, sister, mother, nanna, aunt, cousin, mother in law and friend to lots of people and she will be desperately missed. Born on April 9, 1949, Christine became a cadet nurse in 1965 aged 16 after developing a passion to work in nursing at a young age.
