COLUMBUS, Ohio A man is dead after a shooting in northeast Columbus Wednesday morning.
Columbus police officers were called to the Sunoco gas station in the 1700 block of East Hudson Street on a report of a shooting at around 3:15 a.m.
When they arrived, officers found 62-year-old David Gaines shot.
He was taken to Grant Medical Center where he later died.
Police do not have any information on a suspect at this time.
Gaines death is the eighth homicide in Columbus in 2021.

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) â Two young children out of Madison Heights have been found safe after Michigan State Police issued an AMBER Alert overnight.
The 4-month-old and 1-year-old were found safe at their grandparent s house in Toledo, Ohio.
No arrests have been made yet as there are conflicting stories about what happened, according to police.
Police were looking for Lemonte Dujuan Bronner, 18. He allegedly took a 4-month-old girl and a 1-year-old girl at gunpoint Thursday. He fled from the area of East Hudson, police say, and was driving a black Sedan, license plate unknown.
