Probably somewhere around 32 to 34 thats where we peaked this afternoon, the numbers fall off from there. Windchills stuck in the teens all day long. For tomorrow, its cold, highs in the 20s, but well lose the gusty breeze which will feel a whole lot better. Most of the upcoming workweek is cold. Tuesday right through 6 00 a. M. On wednesday as we are tracking a period of light snow. You can see the area of low pressure out to the north out across the northern great lakes and that trailing cold front that will work its way eastward as we get into tuesday afternoon really tuesday night and throughout the day on wednesday. So well talk about what we can expect. Its cloudy for most of us on tuesday for the majority of the day but well tracking light snow fall in our far northwestern suburbs and Lehigh Valley as we get into tomorrow afternoon. The steadiest of that snowfall arrives 11 00 p. M. Tomorrow night right through 7 00 a. M. On wednesday so it will be slow going for the morning commute as we get into the middle half of our work week. Well talk more about that coming up with the full and exclusive accuweather forecast. Rest of us is cause for concern for people who live along this stretch of the Delaware River but many neighbors here tell us as long as the nearby canal doesnt flood, they feel relatively safe. You can get a pinch point up in yardley where the yardley inn is. Floods there and down here and sort of creates an island so the last time it happened i think it was 06 im not sure but we were mandatory evacuated. Reporter so far the canal has not flooded and flooding from the river has been relatively minor. The problem that has developed here is quite simply an ice jam and that forces the current to accumulate in isolated areas. So far the worst of it is here at the intersection of river road and ferry road in lower makefield and so local officials are urging commuters to avoid the area. At this time the river continues to be ice dammed along the calhoun street bridge zero the river is unpredictable. The water could still rise a little bit or even some ice flows could come up on the red way.
And freezing rain maybe wet snowflakes pushing up into parts of south jersey and delaware. Storm tracker6 live double scan shows you the progression. Thats probably fairly low impact but i am concerned about that blue down to the south. Farther to the south you can see the change to green and that is that warmer air coming up which eventually will change over this messy mix to rain. As we take a look at the current setup with Winter Weather advisories and watches well, its a storm warning up north in the poconos, a Winter Weather advisory now through the Lehigh Valley back through reading and as i expected yesterday it has been extended all the way through philadelphia and even include New Castle County delaware and some of these counties abutting the Delaware River in south jersey.
