Tsunami warning issued after magnitude 7.6 earthquake hits off coast of Indonesia - Indonesia is prone to quakes because of its position on the Ring of Fire , an arc of volcanoes and fault lines lying in the basin of Pacific Ocean.
A powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Indonesia on Tuesday triggering a tsunami warning and sending residents fleeing from their homes but causing only minor damage and injuring one person, authorities said.
However, this was not the first time that due to the earthquake a tsunami warning has been issued. In 2004 following the earthquake 9.1 magnitude tsunami warning was also issued.
