In an explosive hearing, four former senior soldiers in the D.C. National Guard, none of whom were formally interviewed by the January 6 House Select Committee, accused US Army Generals Walter Piatt and Charles Flynn, and senior civilian Pentagon officials, of blocking them from protecting Congress as it was being overrun by Trump radicals.
In a whistle-blower complaint filed last October, Col. Earl Matthews said he was retaliated against by Army officials for accusing Generals Walter Piatt and Charles Flynn of lying before Congress and in official Department of Defense investigations concerning the delay in deploying D.C. National Guard troops to the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Col. Earl Matthews, now a member of the Army Reserve, alleged he was passed over for promotion and publicly kicked out of a conference he was assigned to for work in retaliation.
