MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – WGNS has more details on the pedestrian / SUV related accident that occurred on Thursday morning in Murfreesboro. Evidently, the victim was a young child. According to police, the three-year-old child was accidentally hit and injured by the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) after the child ran into traffic on busy Old Fort Parkway on Thursday, May 26. Woman arrested after LaVergne License Plate Reader Notifies Police of Stolen Vehicle

(La Vergne, Tenn.) One woman is behind bars after being arrested on Thursday (5/26/22), thanks to the La Vergne license plate reader system. The Blue Sentinel license plate reader alerted officers to a vehicle entering the city that had been reported as stolen. The driver was later spotted backing the vehicle into a spot at the Kroger parking lot on Murfreesboro Road. Officers were able to stop the driver, identified as Amy Vanhorn, and take her into custody. Vanhorn was taken to Rutherford .

Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce says more tourists are visiting our area

More and more tourists are choosing Rutherford County, that according to the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. The chamber reported on local hotel occupancy rates Thursday stating, “We are happy to report that Rutherford County saw an increase of 14,000 rooms from 2021. Hotel room revenue increased as well, bringing in $39 million year-to-date, an increase of $13 million over the previous year."
