(MURFREESBORO) In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the entire week honors those officers. At 10:00 o'clock this coming Thursday morning (5/18/2023) the Murfreesboro Police Department (1004 N. Highland Ave.) will hold a community-wide ceremony honoring fallen officers from all agencies that serve Rutherford County.
The ceremony will include officers from the Murfreesboro Police Department .
UPDATED: Eagleville, TN – WGNS has more information on an accident that took place just before noon on Wednesday in Eagleville. The wreck, involving a semi-truck and a mail carrier, happened near the intersection of Horton Highway and Allisona Road in Rutherford County.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 52-year-old Michelle Michael was delivering mail in her small Nissan SUV when a Kenworth dump truck rounded the curve. The oversized truck, driven by 44-year-old Charles Oba .
