One person is dead and two others are hurt this morning from a shooting on a Tennessee College campus. It happened at Tennessee State university in nashville, where Police Say Two men may have been gambling. They say the person who died was not a student. Authorities have not said if they found the shooter. Just over a week ago, three people were hurt in a shooting across the street from the same college. Dubuque wants to make the city safer. So far this year, police say theyve taken nearly 30 reports of gunfire. So a Nonprofit Organization looked for help from someone across the pond. The group invited an officer who works in the scottish Violence Reduction unit to talk about making the city safer. The Scottish Government says last year, it recorded its lowest level of crime in 40 years. Many credit the low rate to some of the toughest gun control laws in the world. It includes filling out extensive paperwork. And proving to police that the potential gun owner isnt a danger to society

Nearby drug store. When officers pulled them over, one of the men got out and fled. Two officers used a police k9 to track the man down, here, within the block. As they closed in to make an arrest, the suspect opened fire, shooting a weapon at the officers. They fired back. The man, who police say was in his early 20s, was fatally wounded. He has since died from his injuries. The two officers and the k9 were not hurt. Police are waiting to release the suspects name until family has been notified. As part of procedure, te two officers involved in the shooting are now on paid administrative leave. The Iowa Division of criminal investigation is looking into the incident.
