when the democrats take over the house and they have this enormous power to investigate anything they want. and so i think the trump administration is about to realize what kind of change and what it s going to be like when another party controls one of the two chambers. so undoubtedly because of look, i m probably the only person in washington who never really thought that the hillary clinton e-mail thing was that big a deal. it was significant, you know, anytime the fbi gets involved with something, it s obvious very serious. there were legitimate questions there. but i always thought it was sort of blown out of proportion. and frankly what i ve seen of this story is, yes, legitimate. these records acts are very important. it s important to preserve these records. right. but, you know, it doesn t seem like a high crime. i mean i think the issues related to whether ivanka trump should be serving in the white house at all and the precedents over nepotism are far worse than this e
will be no consequences, but republicans who are up for election next year are dealing with the reality that it s not just the republican base they need to appeal to. it s everybody. a lot of other people in the electorate. i think trump is sort of, has always, i think, in his in his tenure, looked out for trump and not been all that concerned about the party as a whole, and that s why a lot of republicans in washington are pretty uncomfortable, because they know they have to survive in a mid-term election year. matt, let me get you on this side. jared kushner e-mail thing. sort of astonished when i read it after all the lock her up chants and private e-mail server for hillary clinton and the democrats, jared kushner according to his team and lawyer set up in december, january, shortly before he took his role in the white house a private e-mail account and has sent a handful of corr spondenses with fellow officials in the white house from that private account.
stop and say, what you think you know about this is not accurate. you can still judge me and hold me accountable. that was fair game. but there was so much else going on at that time. the investigation that they conducted ended in july. it was over. and i have my complaints about the former director comey but it was done. and then it was reignited and it became the major reason for the end based on the best analysis that i could find, that i lost ground and ended up losing. so turn the clock back. what was done, and i think it was interesting. i know you had dean from the new york times stery. and they covered it like it was pearl harbor. and then in their endorsement of me, this e-mail thing, it is like a help desk issue.
