KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Dymond Rudd has only been to the barber twice in his life. Cutting his own hair was a way to save his single mother money on barbershop visits growing up - even if he ended up with patches in his head.
By the time he opened his Fountain City barbershop in late 2019, his only experience had been family members, school clients and house calls with folks who heard his name through the grapevine. It may not be the traditional path, but, so far, it has worked.
