VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Ella Roaldson’s two run double with two out in the seventh highlighted a three run rally for Jamestown as the Blue Jays downed Valley City 6-4 in game one of the doubleheader. The Blue Jays offense picked up in in the second game when they left off in the first game with a 19-3 win in four innings. Jamestown had 25 runs and 25 hits in the two games. Seven starter has hits in game one all nine starters reached base with seven getting hits in game two. Jamestown has won four in a row and are 7-3 on the season. Valley City has dropped three straight after winning their first three games of the year.

Packers End Hi-Liners Season At EDC Tournament

WEST FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – West Fargo used an 11-0 between the end of the first half and into the second half, plus a stifling defense in the second half to pull out a 67-43 win over Valley City in the Eastern Dakota Conference girls basketball tournament loser out game. The Hi-Liners got off to a good start, leading the home team Packers 10-4 early. The first half saw two ties and five lead changes before the Packers scored the last six points of the half for a 27-23 lead. The Packers would start the second half on an 8-2 run to open up a ten point lead, 35-25. The Hi-Liners would keep it between that eight and 12 point margin for most of the second half until West Fargo slowly but surely pulled away for the 24 point win.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Grand Forks Red River jumped out to a 27-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game and never looked back on the way to 64-39 win over Valley City in the quarterfinals of the Eastern Dakota Conference girls basketball tournament Tuesday night in Grand Forks. The Hi-Liners did not score until Tesa Olson hit a short jumper to the right of the lane with 7:57 to go in the first half. From that point on, the Hi-Liners out scored the second ranked Roughriders 39-37. Alex Page had nine of her game high 22 points i the first half when Red River built a 36-12 lead. Page added seven rebounds, three assists and three blocks for the Roughriders. Jade Azure had 12 points for Red River and Kaylee Lancaster had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Hannah Litzinger had six rebounds and four assists which tied Ella Fosse for the team high.
