Primary school pupils hold virtual walk of Welsh coastline to raise funds for new outdoor learning area
Pupils at a Wrexham primary school have raised more than £500 by taking part in a virtual walk of the Welsh coastline
The Foundation Phase department at Wat’s Dyke School, in Garden Village, took part in the sponsored walk to help raise funds for its outdoor learning area.
All children and staff in the department walked a mile a day in school as part of the fundraiser.
Over a two week period parents and children have also supported the department’s walking during weekends and sending in their steps.

Sandra Tarver, curriculum leader for music at the school, has pioneered the use of the ukulele this year. Mrs Tarver said: You can learn to play your first song very quickly, it is the best instrument to play as a beginner - four stings and smaller fretboard make it easier to learn, easily portable. A very beginner-friendly instrument to learn. Year 8 are the leaders in using the ukulele, with classes of 25 at present
