overnight. gary was showing you the temperatures. charlottesville at 11:45 this morning was 70 degrees, already dropping. here around the region you can see the colder temperatures to the mason dixon line. warmer to the south. as we widen out the picture, you can see the cold front employing through central virginia. look up north the cold air available to be tapped by the storm system over indiana and racing in our direction. headlines, this storm will hit us overnight and it is going to pack a punch. we want you to be ready for that. we will be dropping to the 20s. that is hard to believe. believe it. it will happen. we will have a rain to mix to snow later tonight. when will the heaviest snow hit? between midnight and 4:00 in the morning. we will know what we are dealing with by the time the sun comes up. we think several inches is possible, especially north and there will be widespread cancellations and delays across the region tomorrow. don t let this catch you by surpri
activity light in nature. and at this point i would call it scattered showers, as some of the showers have broken up in the last 30 minutes or so. still some rain in northeast and northeast washington, down to the south near waldorf. in frederick seeing rain showers and front royal to the west also getting rain. nothing happening to the east but these showers will track into the eastern portions the v this morning s rain is not significant but we could see significant rainfall amounts later today and tonight. because of that there is a flash flood watch issued by the national weather service for most of the region, including washington, d.c. and all of the counties you see in green there. that is for late tonight and into tomorrow. we could see up to two inches of rain in some locations and perhaps up to three inches in some catered scattered locations. temperatures look like this we are at 50 degrees here at reagan national. 45 at dulles. and 47 degrees at bwi marshall.
