Dutch trade union halts discussions on new temporary employment collective agreement over housing migrant workers

Netherlands-based trade union FNV said it wants clear agreements on maximum rental rates that employment agencies may charge for housing migrant workers and has halted collective labour agreement negotiations for temporary workers.

Temporary workers hours down 13% while revenue remains steady in latest ABU market monitor

The total amount of hours worked by temporary workers in the Netherlands for the fifth period of 2023 (24 April through 21 May, weeks 17-20) decreased by 13% when compared to the same period last year, according to the Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU). Revenue saw no change when compared to the same period a year ago.

Health Ministry invests €32 million in Long Covid research

Minister Ernst Kuipers (Public Health) is allocating an additional 32 million euros for research into Long Covid and a so-called "competence network" to ensure that effective treatments reach patients and healthcare workers as quickly as possible. The minister believes too little is known about the symptoms that continue long after a coronavirus infection.
