A sign our Hawk is watching over us: 115th Fighter Wing issues thanks for support since F-16 crash

Photo courtesy of the 115th Fighter Wing MADISON, Wis. The 115th Fighter Wing is thanking all of the organizations that have helped in recent weeks following the fatal crash of an F-16 jet. Earlier this week, the Wisconsin National Guard leadership team flew to the Upper Peninsula to check on the team working at the crash site. In a Facebook post, the 115th Fighter Wing says a bald eagle flew overhead just before the helicopters landed. The Fighter Wing says the eagle struck them as a sign that Capt. Durwood “Hawk” Jones, who died in the crash, was watching over them. The 37-year-old left behind a wife and two young children.
