NEW DELHI: The Times of India today launched the #CutTheShame initiative to raise awareness about menstrual health, period poverty and to break the silence around the age-old practice of menstrual shame.
Despite the great advances that we may have made on several fronts, millions of menstruating women are still made to feel unclean and ‘impure’ by their own families during these stressful times.
The campaign, launched on the World Menstrual Hygiene Day by India s largest news brand, aims to counter these taboos through a series of expert-backed data, information and advice, through the experiences of girls and women in India.
