He has spent most of his time with Gweedore United where he is currently club captain.
McFadden also enjoyed a brief but successful spell with Gweedore Celtic, and starred for Glenea United, the Donegal Youth League team, and the Ulster Schools side when he was a teenager.
The striker has gone up against some quality players during his time and has this week picked the best 11 (4-4-2) he has faced.

Joe Coll (Glenea United): I played with Joe for Glenea Youths when he was only 14-years-old before Manchester United came calling for him. I think that says it all.

Chris Cannon is a well-known figure in Donegal soccer circles, and has been an integral player for Dunlewey Celtic down through the years.
He played his underage and youth football with Gweedore Celtic, before going on to represent Dunlewey and Glenea United at senior level. He also enjoyed a spell with Finn Harps Under 19s.
Cannon has this week picked the best 11 (3-5-2) he has faced over his career, with honourable mentions for Chris Sweeney (Gweedore Celtic), Benny McLaughlin (Cappry) and Frank McGee (Gweedore United).
Conrad Logan (Swilly Rovers): I played against Conrad a good bit underage and played with him too in Ian Rush tournament in Wales and Milk Cup. He was a good man to have behind you for organising and shot stopping. An all-rounder, I’m not surprised he made it in England.
