A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of David P. Przybyla, 66, of Newark, Ohio, was held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, at noon, Tuesday, April 20, 2021, with Fr. David Sizemore as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Dave, Denison University professor emeritus of psychology, died at his home on Monday, April 12, 2021. He was born in Dunkirk, N.Y., on Nov, 25, 1954, to the late Alfred J. and Loretta H. (Graczykowski) Przybyla.
A 1972 graduate of Dunkirk Senior High School, Dave was active in many school activities including their drama department and student council. He earned his Bachelor of Science from SUNY College at Fredonia, his Master of Science from Purdue University, and his Ph.D. from SUNY-Albany.
Louis T. Ziegler
Louis T. Ziegler, 90, passed away Tuesday February 9, 2021, at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, NY after a brief battle with COVID-19.
He was born on May 6, 1930 in Weehawken NJ, the son of the late Peter and Irene Ziegler.
Moving from West New York, NJ as a young boy, his family came to Dunkirk where he attended school and graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1948.
After graduation he began working for Geiben Bros sanitation until he enlisted and served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 and was stationed in Paris, France. When he returned from his military service he enlisted in the Army Reserves for 5 years and went back to work with Geiben Bros until he took a job with the Dunkirk City School District in 1958 as a custodian. He worked for the district for 33 years and retired in 1991 from Dunkirk Senior High School as head custodian.

B. Anthony “Brownie” Gary, 87, born in Dunkirk, N.Y., has passed peacefully in Phoenix, Ariz,, on Dec. 6, 2020.
He was happily married to Marie Mulcahy Gary, who passed in 2010, for 50 years. They had four children: Michael, who passed in 2017, Daniel, Jay and Candace. His loving family grew to eight grandchildren: Lindsey, Samantha, Daniel Jr, Andrew, Leah, Emma, Hanna and Christina; and three great-gran-dchildren.
He obtained his masters degree from SUNY at Fredonia and went on to teach science for over 20 years at Dunkirk Senior High School, where he also coached the golf team. His other accomplishments include being a veteran of the Korean War and a former volunteer fireman.
