McDonald s Sponsors Resilience Training for West Virginia Teenagers | News, Sports, Jobs

A military veteran trained to assist soldiers with coping mechanisms will share his experience with West Virginia youths courtesy of McDonald’s restaurants. Duncan Kirkwood, a former 1st lieutenant in the Alabama National Guard, will present a free online resilience training workshop for teenagers across the state at 1:30 p.m. on May 20. He is the author of “Rerouting: Resilience Tools and Tactics.” Local McDonald’s restaurants owned by the Stoltz family purchased 200 copies of the book, which will be distributed to WPHS students. Some copies will be kept at the school for reference by future students.

Helping High School Students 11:19 pm Local McDonald’s restaurants in Cambria County are joining with author and military veteran Duncan Kirkwood to help high school students. Kirkwood’s book offers resilience training for youth who are feeling isolated and anxious in the pandemic. Kirkwood will be conducting a free one hour virtual resilience workshop at 2 pm on May 18th for all school districts across the area.
