A PADDLEBOARDER was caught in a rip current near the mouth of the Biel Water last night (Thursday). Dunbar Coastguard volunteers were joined by members of the town’s RNLI after reports of the paddleboarder in difficulty in Belhaven Bay. The call came in at about 8.25pm, with the paddleboarder separated from their equipment. A spokesperson for Dunbar Coastguard said: “They made their way ashore and did the right thing by contacting the Coastguard. “After a brief search, and shortly before the end of twilight, the board was located by the inshore lifeboat and brought ashore at Belhaven where it was reunited with the owner.
