The 1.30pm incident, east of North Berwick, saw Dunbar Coastguard, North Berwick Coastguard, Fisherrow Coastguard, North Berwick Lifeboat RNLI, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Scottish Ambulance Service all spring into action.
A Dunbar Coastguard spokesperson said: “Once on scene, teams located two casualties stuck on the cliff.
“Teams started to set up our rope rescue equipment and deployed a rope technician over the cliff.
“Both casualties were secured and recovered up the cliff by the rope technician and cliff top teams. The casualties were checked over and both are safe and well."
