Tigers Sweep Doubleheader for Second Consecutive Weekend

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Women’s Tennis team (4-0) continued its strong start to the season on Sunday with a doubleheader sweep over Presbyterian College and Wofford on Sunday at Duckworth Family Tennis Facility. It marks the second consecutive doubleheader sweep for Clemson, and all four matches thus far were won by a score of 7-0.  “I’m super proud of our team and where the girls are physically and mentally,” said Head Coach Amy Sargeant. “The girls have learned a lot this week and I commend their commitment to trusting the process and challenging themselves to get better.” The team was anchored by a powerful start in doubles, where they took two of three matches from the Blue Hose. The pairing of Jenna Thompson and Samantha Buyckx got the Tigers off to a great start, winning their match 6-1. Tigers Complete Day Two of Clemson Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. - The Clemson men’s tennis team continued its solid play on the second day of the Clemson Invitational, registering a doubles win courtesy of Trey Stinchcomb and Matt Pitts and six overall singles victories. The day was highlighted by a sweep of three straight wins for Stinchcomb. The Tigers split doubles in the morning as Whitaker and Smith dropped the match to Presbyterian’s Benson and Milanovic, but Stinchcomb and M. Pitts gave the Tigers momentum heading into singles as they defeated Charlotte’s Dreycopp and Gloria, 7-5. Four of six Tigers opened the day with singles wins as M. Pitts, Stinchcomb, Max Smith and Ethan Silva all came out victorious on their respective courts, taking down opponents from Auburn, Charlotte and Wisconsin.  Stinchcomb continued to play solid tennis for the Tigers as he defeated Wisconsin’s Schwartz 7-5, 7-6 while Smith beat Presbyterian’s Max Benson 6-2, 6-3 to go 3-0 in the first two days of play.
